Apropos
From the March AD 1998
Our Lady of the Rosary
Parish Bulletin
Selections from the
Scripture, the Fathers,
Doctors, Popes, and other great spiritual writers appropriate to the Church in
our time.
"Her priests have despised My law, and have defiled My sanctuaries: they have
put no difference between holy and profane: nor have they distinguished between
the polluted and the clean: and they have turned away their eyes from My
sabbaths, and I was profaned in the midst of them."
--- Ezechiel xxii: 26
"How long, O Lord?"
Why, O God, hast Thou cast us off forever? Why does Thine anger smolder
against the sheep of Thy pasture?
Turn Thy steps toward the utter ruins; toward all the damage the enemy has
done in the sanctuary.
Thy foes roar triumphantly in Thy shrine; they have set up their tokens of
victory.
They are like men coming up with axes to a clump of trees; and now with
chisel and hammer they hack at all its paneling.
They set Thy sanctuary on fire; the place where Thy name abides they have
razed and profaned.
They said in their hearts, " Let us destroy them; burn all the shrines
of God in the land."
Deeds on our behalf we do not see; there is no prophet now, and no one of us
knows how long...."
