THE CONSECRATION
The Priest takes the host in both hands, bows over it
and says aloud:
Priest: On the day which preceeded His passion, He took bread into His
holy hands and lifted up His eyes to Thee, O God, His Omnipotent Father, and
gave thanks to Thee + and blessed it + and sanctified it +
and broke it, he touches the host at four points and gave it to His
disciples saying:
TAKE YE, EAT YE ALL OF THIS:
FOR THIS IS MY BODY
Assistant: Amen. The bell is rung.
The Priest places the host on the paten, genuflects, takes
the chalice and continues:
Priest: In like manner after they had supped, He took this pure
chalice into His pure hands and gave thanks to Thee + and blessed it +
and sanctified it + and and gave it to His disciples, saying:
TAKE YE, DRINK YE ALL OF THIS:
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD: OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL TESTAMENT: THE
MYSTERY OF FAITH, WHICH SHALL BE SHED FOR YOU AND FOR MANY, FOR THE REMISSION OF
SINS
Assistant: Amen. Kyrie Eleison.. The bell is rung. The
Priest genuflects and continues:
Priest: As often as you shall do these things, you shall do them
in commemoration of me, until I come.
