Introit: Ps. xliv

Let us all rejoice in the Lord, as we celebrate the feast in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, upon which the angels rejoice and praise the Son of God. [Ps.] My heart overflows with good tidings; I sing my song to the king. Glory be.  Let us.

Collect:

O Lord Jesus Christ, we venerate the wondrous picture of Thy Mother Mary. Thou didst give her to be our Mother as well, perpetually prepared to help us. Grant that we who earnestly implore her motherly intercession may be worthy to enjoy the eternal fruit of Thy redemption; Who live and reign.

Epistle: Ecclesiasticus xxiv: 23-31

A reading from the wisdom books:
As the vine I have brought forth a pleasant odor, and my flowers are the fruit of honor and riches. I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of holy hope. In me is all the grace of the way and of the truth, in me is all hope of life and virtue. Come over to me, all you who desire me, and be filled with my fruits. For my spirit is sweet above honey, and my inheritance above honey and the honeycomb. My memory is unto everlasting generations. They who eat me shall yet hunger; and they who drink me shall yet thirst. He who harkens to me shall not be confounded; and they who work by me shall not sin. They who explain me shall have life everlasting.

Gradual: Cant. vi: 3, 9; Judith xiii: 22

Thou art all beautiful and sweet, O daughter of Sion; fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army in battle array. The Lord has blessed Thee by His power, because by thee He has brought our enemies to nought.

Alleluia, alleluia! Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women. Alleluia!

John xix: 25-27
+

The continuation of the Holy Gospel according to John:

At that time, there were standing by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus, therefore, saw His mother and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold, thy son." Then He said to the disciple, "Behold, thy mother." And from that hour, the disciple took her into his home.

Offertory: Jeremias xvii: 20

Remember, O Virgin Mother, to speak good things on our behalf before the face of God, that He may turn away His anger from us.

Secret:

O Lord, through Thy mercy and the intercession of the blessed ever-Virgin Mary, let this offering bring prosperity and peace now and forever.
