The Most Reverend John J. Greed, RIP
We sincerely regret to inform our readers of the death of Bishop John J. Greed on June 1st, A.D.2002 after a long illness following a stroke. Bishop Greed was consecrated to the Episcopate on the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29th, 1984. When in better health, he served as Vicar General and Primatial Auxiliary, and was the founding pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Hudson, Florida. His remains lay in state on June 4th and were buried on June 5th at the Military cemetery in Sumter, Florida after Mass at Immaculate Conception. Mass was also offered at Our Lady of the Rosary on June 29th, the anniversary of his episcopal consecration.
